The Director Diversity Initiative consulted the company's most recent proxy statements issued before September 30 of the year of the census to determine board composition and named executive officers as of that date. We made decisions on the race and gender of board members based on our examination of photos, Internet searches, and the North Carolina Department of Elections database. Emails were then sent to the companies to verify the information we compiled based on our examination of the proxy statements and other sources.
